Hawkweed 45ft, 2+1 Berths

Hawkweed is a 2 berth canalboat which is the result of years of feedback from customers and incorporates many of their ideas and suggestions. She has a new super quiet low emission engine. The cabin is well insulated for warmth in the spring and coolness in the summer, and has oil fired central heating to keep you warm in the cooler months along with a constant supply of hot water. She also has solar panels to provide extra charging if you choose to do a shorter days cruising.

The galley is equipped with a cooker and four burner hob, electric fridge, microwave oven and toaster. There are 240 volt sockets on board for charging laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

Everything that is practical to make your holiday as enjoyable and comfortable as possible has been built in. Flat screen TV/DVD player, radio and CD player. The boat has large bow and stern cockpits for enjoying outside dinning or just taking in the views.

All of our boats were designed and fitted out by our own craftsmen and engineers here at Weedon, using only the most reliable and well proven equipment available.

Your Rental

We operate from the 1st March until the 28th November. Rentals are for a minimum of one month increasing in monthly increments. Rental starts on the 1st of the month and finishes on the 28th of the last month of hire.

Prices

Prices Start at 2,500 per month in low season months, rising to £4,500 per month in high season. At the time at which the booking is made a deposit of £1,000 is taken, the balance payment is due two months prior to the start date of the rental. A damage deposit of £1,000 will be taken at the same time as the balance payment. The damage deposit will be refunded within 7 days of the end date of the rental minus any deductions that have to be made in the unlikely event of any damages or losses to the boat or its inventory. All payments must be made via BACS. cash, card or cheque payments cannot be received.

Fuel

The boat will be provided with a full tank of fuel, through the duration of the rental you will be responsible for keeping the fuel topped up (we recommend every two weeks) and the boat must be returned at the end of the rental with a full tank of fuel.

Maintenance

The boat will be fully serviced and maintained between rentals to strict guidelines set out in our operational procedures, on longer rentals we will arrange to meet up with you to carry out routine servicing. A 24/7 call out service is provided.

Safety

Our boats are fully licenced with the Canal and River Trust for commercial use, along with commercial Boat Safety Certification, commercial insurance, annual gas landlord checks and annual Fire Safety inspection. We are a member of British Marine the trade body representing our industry, they regularly audit us on our maintenance and safety procedures along with the standard of our Hand Over procedures covering customer training. Your first time?

Even if you are a novice to canal boating you will be surprised at how easy it is to skipper the boat. We give you full practical instruction on both steering the boat and working the locks. We have no set time for this and we won't leave you until you are confident of how to handle the boat. We are renowned for our dedication in our boat handover instruction in particular for novices, this doesn’t stop after the first day of hire, Myself and Steph are always on hand at the end of the phone for support and advice.
